Customs and documentation
Your cargo is cleared twice on this route - once at the port of entry, and again at the Zimbabwe border. Both steps need to be planned together.
At the port of entry

- Declared values must be consistent across the invoice, the customs declaration and the transport documents. Mismatches are the most common cause of border delays.
- Document everything in advance. Border queues are real, and a missing certificate can add days.
- Currency and payment planning matters as much as the freight - we advise on timing so your clearance is not held up at the last step.
We coordinate with clearing agents registered at the relevant border posts and manage the handover between the port agent and the Zimbabwe agent, so you deal with one party, not three.
Inland transport - the part that decides your delivery date
Once your container leaves the port, the inland leg to Zimbabwe is where schedules are won or lost. What we manage:

Does Zimbabwe have a seaport?
No. Cargo arrives at Beira (Mozambique) or Durban (South Africa) and crosses the border by road. That is why door-to-door transit times are longer than for coastal destinations.
Which route is better - Beira or Durban?
Beira is usually shorter overland for Harare and eastern Zimbabwe; Durban offers more sailings and carrier choice and suits Bulawayo and the south. We recommend the route when quoting, based on your destination and current conditions.
How long does it take door-to-door?
